the moultrie story
In 1979, Dan Moultrie built his first spin-cast feeder to prevent deer from merely passing through his property. The feeder was so effective that his friends asked Dan to build feeders for them as well. This led to the birth of a brand – Moultrie. What started as a solution to a problem quickly evolved into an innovative strategy – creating the best scouting tools on the market. Moultrie went on to pioneer many industry-first innovations, from cellular technology to integrated memory and onboard AI.
Moultrie in the Community
Moultrie is committed to the communities we serve. For 12+ years, Dan Moultrie sat on the State of Alabama’s Department of Conservation Advisory Board, where he helped guide policy in conserving the state’s natural resources. In addition to conservation efforts, he has helped contribute and raise over one million dollars for organizations such as Hunters Helping the Hungry and The Governor’s One Shot Turkey Hunt. The Auburn University Wildlife and Forestry School has named the Dan Moultrie Fund for Excellence Scholarship in his honor.
